Thirteen Lune is a beauty store on 120 N. Larchmont Blvd. whose mission is to incorporate beauty and brands from all over the world, for people of all ethnicities.

To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, which lasts from Sep. 15th to Oct. 15th the store hosted an event with Latin food, music and products on center stage.

An excited shopper at the festivities was Barbie Blessing who said, “I love to see people being lifted up no matter who they are. There are no boundaries to beauty, and I hope it brings in more diversity into the Larchmont community.”

Thirteen Lune also invited multiple Latin owned brands to advertise their products during the festivities on Oct. 13th Gonzalo Dieguez, founder of  Alma Cacao, which makes Peruvian sourced cacao drinks similar to coffee or hot chocolate, said, “It’s an amazing opportunity to advertise my work like this especially to other Latinos.” He spoke of the event.

Marco Ochoa, founder and owner of EcoBrow said, “It’s so nice to see so many other  Latinos here, not just as workers or shoppers, but as brand owners like me.”

Rosalinda Vega, the stores director, when asked about working for Thirteen Lune answered, “This is so different from anything I’ve ever worked with.  It’s a family and a trailblazing machine here. I absolutely love it.”

Nyakio Griecro, founder of Thirteen Lune on why diverse beauty was important to her brand said, “Most of the beauty rituals and ingredients that we use across a multibillion-dollar beauty industry come from marginalized parts of the world. And historically, Latin women, Black women, have been some of the biggest shoppers in the industry, so why shouldn’t we be represented in that industry?…I want customers to feel seen when they see their heritage on a shelf, and to make beauty more inclusive to everyone.”
