Community Celebrates City Hall Victory
A celebratory mood permeated the art salon at The Ebell of Los Angeles when some 100 residents and civic officials marked the successful conclusion of the months-long city redistricting campaign.
Hosting the April event were Lorna Hennington, representing Wilshire Park; Diane Dicksteen, Windsor Village and Patty Lombard, Fremont Place. These are the areas that moved from Councilman Herb Wesson’s District 10 to LaBonge’s District 4.
Councilman Tom LaBonge gave special credit to John Welborne, Owen Smith and Robbie O’Donnell for their efforts in promoting the unification of Greater Wilshire Neighborhood Council neighborhoods.
Among other city officials attending were Councilman Herb Wesson of District 10; members of LaBonge’s staff and his wife Brigid. Also sharing in the good news was A. F. Gilmore president Hank Hilty whose Farmers Market remains in District 4.
