Chipotle to open as Koo Koo Roo ends franchise on Larchmont Blvd.

Chicken—grilled, roasted or tossed in a Caesar—is off the menu at Larchmont Koo Koo Roo.
Hormone-free chicken, barbecued beef and brown or white rice paired with cilantro top the menu at Chipotle Mexican Grill. The Denver-based company plans to opens its new chain after construction is completed at Beverly Blvd.
Koo Koo Roo, meanwhile, closed its doors Oct. 18 at its longstanding spot at the northwest corner of Larchmont and Beverly boulevards. Owned by Texas-based Luby’s, the local store had 12 employees, a store manager said. Two more sites remain open, in West Hollywood and Santa Monica, though the business shuttered 10 of its last 13 restaurants in the past few years as part of a bankruptcy reorganization.
