Author Jillian Shriner, the wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner was shot by police and arrested. She was treated for her non-life threatening wound and booked for attempted murder. The incident took place in Eagle Rock as police were investigating a hit and run accident. Jillian Shriner was in her backyard with a pistol as police were searching her neighbors yard for the suspects. Police spotted her and told her to drop her weapon, instead she turned the weapon towards police. She was promptly shot in the shoulder. She surrendered to police shortly thereafter. Her husband Scott, believing the show must go on, proceeded to play at Coachella with Weezer.

Jillian published a true crime book, “Behold the Monster” in 2023. She interviewed serial killer Samuel Little for that book.
