Post-apocalyptic world, ‘Dr. House’ joins cast in “The Night Manager’

| March 26, 2026 | 0 Comments

Paradise: There are two seasons of this sci-fi thriller on Prime Video. Created by Dan Fogelman of “This Is Us” fame, and starring a cast of Sterling K. Brown, Julianne Nicholson, and James Marsden, the plot finds the characters holed up in a bunker in a post apocalyptic world. The show weaves together the backstories of all the players through flashbacks and jagged timelines, as Fogelman is known to do. With touching family stories and a lot of intrigue, the show will get you hooked.

The Night Manager: Based on the John le Carré novel of the same name, the second season just dropped after the first season debuted in 2016. The story follows a British army vet played by Tom Hiddleston as he unwittingly becomes part of a sophisticated network of arms dealers led by a character played by Hugh Laurie (Familiar to many from his title role in the hit Fox medical drama “House”). The settings allow you to jet set across several continents as Hiddleston’s character tries to navigate being recruited into the MI6 agency for the British government. Olivia Colman gives a star turn as the leader of the operation for MI6. The ensemble cast enhances the storytelling and gives a remarkably realistic feeling to the entire production. Binge it now on Prime Video.

Marshals: Kayce Dutton is back along with his son Tate. For anyone who did not watch “Yellowstone,” the prior sentence might sound weird, but for its millions of devoted fans, the eagerly awaited sequel to the renowned neo-western is finally here. Luke Grimes reprises his role as Kayce as do many of the familiar characters from the show that gave birth to the Taylor Sheridan universe. Although Sheridan is not writing this series, he is the executive producer, and the show carries a lot of the same feel as the original. Gil Birmingham is back as tribal leader Thomas Rainwater and Brecken Merrill returns as Tate. It can be seen on CBS and streamed on Paramount+. Expect a lot of action, a lot of horses, and some beautiful scenery.

Hamnet: A unique film that tells a story about Shakespeare telling a story. The film was adapted from the novel written by Maggie O’Farrell, who also co-wrote the screenplay with director Chloé Zhao. Jessie Buckley gave an Oscar-winning performance as Shakespeare’s wife Agnes, Hathaway. Paul Mescal (who should have been nominated) was fantastic as a young Will before he reached his artistic heights. The film deals with tragedy and how different people deal with the grief of losing a child. Shot beautifully with painstaking care given to the sets, Zhao fully deserved her Best Directing Oscar nomination. No longer in most theaters, you can rent it on Amazon and stream it on Peacock.

The Terminal List: Dark Wolf: Created by Jack Carr for Prime Video, this show sees Taylor Kitsch reprising his role as a Navy SEAL that gets sucked into the dark world of the CIA. Chris Pratt is back as a teammate who is deeply involved with the shadier side of warfare as well. While all the characters have the best interests of their teammates and country deep in their hearts, the methods used to achieve goals can lead to deep consequences.
