WILSHIRE WARRIORS take top spots, marking the first time they win the championship game at sectionals.

After taking top spots in their respective divisions, two Wilshire Warrior softball teams have won the 2015 PONY All Stars Sectional Tournament. It marks the first time any Wilshire team has won the championship game at sectionals.

Warriors 10-U beat Camarillo in a 6-0 shutout in Bakersfield. The undefeated team now progresses to the regional tournament in Santa Clarita.

Warriors 11-U also took the top spot at a sectional game in Newbury Park. The crowd was on the edge of their seats as the team played a 5-4 comeback win over Toluca Storm.

Both teams have a reason to be proud, according to Matt Rice, a board of director for the Wilshire Warriors. He says the teams had “perennial high level competitors from much bigger PONY programs like Simi Valley, Toluca Lake, West Hills and North Valley in their brackets.”

All eyes will be on both teams as they play in regionals, super regionals, and then hopefully, the PONY International World Series.
