HIS RECENTLY RELEASED book aims to help kids learn the importance of saving money for a goal, said author John Lanza.

In his first book, “Joe the Monkey Saves for a Goal,” Larchmont Village resident John Lanza, helped kids of all ages learn the importance of saving money for a goal. His recently released “Joe the Monkey Learns to Share” will help them figure out how and where to use the money they’ve saved.

The books are part of Snigglezoo Entertainment, a company Lanza founded in 2006 that includes the award-winning Money Mammals DVD and the Money Mammals Kids Club.

Passionate about the importance of teaching pre-and elementary school age kids about the value of money, John and his wife, Eileen, wanted a way to impart the importance of fiscal responsibility to their two young daughters.

The Money Mammals characters—Joe the Monkey, Clara J. Camel, Piggs the Bank and Marmoset—are featured in the DVD which entertains and engages kids and parents via upbeat songs and a story line that illustrates the importance of not only saving money but also sharing (charitable giving) and spending smart.

The characters grew into The Money Mammals Saving Money is Fun Kids Club, a marketing and education program licensed by credit unions nationwide that encourages kids to open accounts that will start them on the right tract towards a positive financial future. “It’s imperative to teach children about the value of money as early as possible,” said Lanza, an award-winning TV producer.  “Young children can be engaged with entertainment to learn the ‘value of money’ lesson.”

“Joe the Monkey Saves for a Goal” is available at Amazon.com, themoneymammals.com and Chevalier’s Books, 126 N. Larchmont Blvd.
