NEW NEIGHBORS Amy and Mark Maimon introduced daughter Sydney to senior lead officer Dave Cordova.

Refreshments, games, safety exhibits and neighborhood walks were among activities at the L.A.P.D. Wilshire and Olympic Division’s National Night Out Against Crime on Tues., Aug. 5.

Three locations for the annual event included Larchmont Village, Poinsettia Recreation Park and the Olympic Division station.

SENIOR LEAD OFFICER Cordova and police cadets presented a certificate of appreciation to volunteer Peter Gorelick.

A large number of residents attended the Larchmont Village event. Food was served from a number of  generous area restaurants including Salt and Straw, Larchmont Wine & Cheese and Lemonade in the Wells Fargo parking lot from 6 to 8 p.m. while Kyril Kasimoff of Kasimoff-Bluthner Piano Co. tickled the ivories.

There was also a vintage police car display, children’s activities and visits by representatives from City Council District 4 and L.A.P.D. Wilshire Division police officers, including senior lead Dave Cordova.

Olympic Division hosted an event at the station on Vermont Ave. that featured refreshments and a walk around the neighborhood.

The Poinsettia Park event, at Willoughby and Fuller, offered food samples from area restaurants as well as live music, children’s activities, safety exhibits, pet adoptions and tree giveaways.
