Los Angeles High 100 years in the ’hood

Get your tickets now for a Los Angeles High School centennial celebration gala Sat., Oct. 21 from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Petersen Automotive Museum, 6060 Wilshire Blvd.
The historic high school is celebrating 100 years at its location at Olympic and Rimpau. Originally founded downtown in 1873, Los Angeles High moved to its current, and third, location — 4650 W. Olympic Blvd. — in 1917.
At the gala, three alumni recipients will be honored for their achievements including “Star Trek’s” George Takei, of Hancock Park, the Magic Castle’s Milt Larsen, whose family has been prominent in Brookside, and Grammy award-winning sound engineer Gerry Brown.
Drago will serve “A Roman Feast.”
Limited to 300 seats, tickets for the gala are $150 and include entrance to the Petersen Museum, dinner, walk-around magicians, a photo booth and an awards show. All funds raised support the arts, athletics and academic programs for Los Angeles High students.
The event host, the Alice G. Harrison Memorial Trust, is a nonprofit foundation that helps support Los Angeles High School.
